<p class="MsoNormal">
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;">“The real payoff has been in finding a healthy <span>balance</span> between <span>family</span> and <span>career</span>.” </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Michael Lyons </span></p>
</blockquote>
<p>For some reason, people are guilt-ridden with their career decisions and the choices they make about working while trying to raise their children, providing nutritious meals, keeping a respectable house and keeping their love ones happy. Last on the list, of course, is finding some time for themselves. So how do you find time to actually feel happy with your daily activities while keeping up with all of the responsibility?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>1. Appreciate What You Have First.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Every day, try to look around and appreciate what you have, taking in the sounds of your child&#8217;s laughter, the wag of your dog&#8217;s tail, the special glance of your husband/wife as you tell a funny joke. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Sometimes, the knowledge of what you have on your plate for the day will feel overwhelming, but a little perspective goes a long way. It may be a cliché and a very tired phrase, but it truly does work. People tend to get lost in the mundane, day-to-day &#8220;functioning&#8221; instead of really living their lives. Just a few minutes of gratitude a day will work wonders for your soul and automatically make your life feel more balanced. <span style="color: #800000;"><strong></strong></span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>2. Give More Time To Yourself.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Try and give yourself some &#8220;me&#8221; time once a week. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Once a week may not seem like much, but if you really allow yourself to soak it in and enjoy the time spent, it will make the stress of all of the rest of the hectic days melt away. Take a good block of time on a Saturday or Sunday - 2 hours, maybe - and mark this time in your calendar in pen. Keep a standing appointment with yourself, and honor it as you would any other. Think you are too busy on a weekend to do this? You will feel much more productive the rest of the weekend allowing yourself this little ‘refresher&#8217;, rather than trying to cram some time in on a random Tuesday or other weeknight. </span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>3. Go Out And Have Fun.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">For this special time, you can book a massage or a facial at your favorite spa. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Take a couple of hours to go shopping at your favorites stores, by yourself or with a friend. Take in a matinee with a couple of friends. Even if your budget doesn&#8217;t allow for these activities once a week, you can lock yourself in the bathroom with a good book, a bubble bath and a nice glass of wine and feel good about your time alone - you deserve some! This works for both &#8220;women and men&#8221;.<br />
</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>4. Find The Moments You Never Thought Existed.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Probably the most obvious way to balance career and family is to incorporate your family into what would otherwise be &#8220;work time&#8221;. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">If you have a short commute to work, for example, perhaps you can drive your kids to school each morning instead of having them take the bus. In the alternative, you could have your morning cup of coffee at the bus stop with them and spend a few minutes chatting about their day and what they plan to learn in school as you sip your cup of coffee and breathe in the morning air to mentally prepare for your own day ahead. </span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>5. Mange Your Exercises.</strong><span><strong> </strong></span></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">If you normally exercise in the morning and leave the house very early, switch your workout time to lunch and leave the office to go to the gym, eating at your desk when you get back. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">You will have more time with your family each day and get a healthy break from your pile of papers to boot.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">You may need to get a little creative with your schedule, but there are definitely ways to help balance career and family. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Sometimes an extra few minutes each day or a once-weekly good block of time can go a long way in helping restore your peace of mind and help you feel less harried.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: left"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Want to change your field of work, doing something else or living somewhere else. Now is time to do more than dream. Even if you are not ready to make the change, is time to begin planning now. Don’t wait until you are out of work. </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Whether a career change is by choice or is by circumstance, a successful switch depends on some steps.</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>1. Think What’s Wrong Now.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Sometimes people are totally in wrong career for them. You have to escape the situation that will make you feel sick going to work every morning, most of employees escape this bad fit moment just before it has a bad and dramatic effect on them. If you are thinking changing career and there is something wrong with what you are doing now. Determine what it is, so that you don’t make the same mistake again.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong><span style="color: #993366;">2. Don’t Be Afraid.</span></strong> </span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Everybody gets scared when they start thinking about changing current work position. They fear to find themselves committed to relocating, or spending to much money on education. Most companies welcome and recognize that employees must prepare for possible change, exploring alternative paths bring new insights into the workplace. As you fear about the relocations, pay cuts, or educational demands with a career transition, it’s up to you. If you don’t like it, don’t do it.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>3. Look In The Market First.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">We all dream about the perfect job, but often our dreams don’t match the reality. You have to look first the job you are looking for on the market, if it exists, there might be no job you dream about. If it does exist, study the market, special magazines, Department of Labor, or local jobs ads. But there also might be a problem. If you do find one you like, they won’t pay you enough. You need to be sure if it is what you really want.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>4. Have Priorities.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">If for you to balance work and family issues is important, then you may want to avoid jobs that require 60 hours a week. You also may question your assumptions about jobs and jobs markets. You should take in consideration that any study of the market should take special note of the issues most critical to you.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>5. Visualize Your Dream Job.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Some people have already the idea in their mind. Others don’t. If you are not satisfied where you are now and don’t know what else to do, you better start brainstorming now, and ask yourself what do you like about your job. This will help you to understand what you like, and can lead to the right career. Make a list with questions and answer them to get a general idea in are you really interested.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>6. Have Connections.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Make a list of every responsible adult you know and contact those who work in their areas of interest. Now the business world allows doing that. A few years ago it might have seemed strange to contact relevant people, but today there is nothing odd about it. Be more interested get more information, not only meeting one on one with those people in the field of interest, but also find out what changes are taking place and what roles you can play.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>7. Determine What Is Best For You.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">You should have a job while you are looking for a better one. Take any available job while developing you dream job. If you are employed stay that way and assess what you like about this job and what you don’t like. If you want to relocate make a search of the region you want to relocate, if this move will be more secure and fulfilling life for you.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>8. Get The Training You Need.</strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Gain fuller appreciation of your skills and capabilities. If the new job demands, requires new skills, you have to figure that out how to do it. That means you will have to take special courses needed for that job, take at home a self-study program or get a night program at local university or college.</span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #993366; font-size: small;"><strong>9. Show That You Worth It. </strong></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">If you plan succeeds, whether you get a new position in the company or outside. In both cases, you have to be prepared and show to the person interviewing that you have the ability to make at this new job. You have to show the fit to market yourself in a effective way. You have to be prepared for the questions you will be asked, have the answers that show your great experience and leadership skills. </span></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Change and look for a better job that gives more fulfillments in your life and you will get rewards.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><span lang="EN-US">You don&#8217;t have to worry, there are simple strategies that may reward you with some extra cash on you monthly check account at your work, if you approach your boss correctly. </span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">So, have a look at the ways to move toward your superior and apply them, to lose some fear in asking what you really deserve. </span></p>
<p> <span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="color: #993366;"><strong>1.Study And Do Your Home Work.</strong> </span></span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Try to get as much information as you can, how you spend company’s money, how you earn them, make a list and try to understand how you dedicate yourself to its purpose, before you ask for that raise. Study the company you work for, try finding out how much other people get in your department, in the company or in other companies on the market.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But don’t forget that you&#8217;re not the only one who works hard, have respect for your team members, your approach to your superior has to be correctly so it won&#8217;t affect them. </span></p></blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; color: #993366; font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>2. Prepare Yourself For His Answers.</strong></span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">As you decided to go to your boss, prepare yourself with the answers and arguments that he is going to tell you. Try to foresee what is going to happened, what explanations you will get, if you are told that the financial situation is not in the best shape right now, the budget is too short or the money were invested in a deal, don’t be surprised these are the answers you might get. Make him understand that you wait for his answer when situation stabilizes. Try not to express your disagreement with him, but establish a date to meet again to talk about your raise.</span></p></blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="color: #993366;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><strong>3. Be Open.</strong> </span></span></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Don’t be afraid to be open with your boss, be as honest as possible, and ask him if there are some projects you may participate or what you need to do to get a raise. Ask him what he expects from you, how he likes the job to be done. Of course, not so many companies are willing to pay at the end of the project, many of them don’t have that policy, but some will do that. But remember, do your job properly, only like this you might get rewarded, if you do your job well.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; color: #993366; font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>4. Be Realistic And Thankful.</strong></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Today companies offer a lot of options to its employees, like offering a car, a cell phone that you don’t have to pay for, vacations paid by the company in its own resorts, small holiday after your business trip in the same location. Be realistic and take in consideration what you also gain from advantages offered by the company, which of course you get for free, and be thankful for this. Look from the bright sight.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; color: #993366; font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong>5. Find A New Job.</strong></span></p>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">If you realize that there are no other ways to get a raise for your hard work, look for a new job. But never, never complain to your boss and don’t look unsatisfied all the time, telling that you are looking for another job. This will not bring you in the position to negotiate your raise. Big companies always revaluate their employees, to keep them in the company. You will need a good reputation and good recommendations form your boss if you choose to leave the company.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Always think positive and fight for a career with respect and honor, don’t lie to your superior. If he discovers your lie, you will never have a chance to negotiate your pay check. Consider company’s point of view.<span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">When you go in your boss office, be concise and precise, without tricks </span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">that might come out in the future.</span></span></p>
